Public relations is considered a strategic management function within the contemporary communication ecosystem, where digital transformation processes are rapidly accelerating. The widespread use of digital media platforms, the integration of artificial intelligence–based applications into communication processes, the effective use of big data analytics in decision-making mechanisms, and the adoption of multichannel communication strategies as standard practices within corporate structures have increased the demand for communication professionals who possess strong analytical thinking skills, high digital competence, and advanced strategic planning and management capabilities. It is therefore expected that professionals specializing in public relations receive comprehensive training in all areas of communication science.
The Public Relations and Publicity Program is based on an interdisciplinary theoretical framework that includes interpersonal communication and mass communication theories, social psychology, sociology, business administration, marketing, political communication, and law. In addition, it addresses contemporary and practice-oriented fields such as digital media management, content strategies, crisis and risk communication, brand and reputation management, corporate communication, data-driven communication planning, and strategic campaign design through a holistic approach. In this way, the program aims to ensure that students both understand the theoretical foundations of communication sciences and acquire the competencies required to adapt to the changing media environment.
The primary objective of the program is not only to provide students with a strong theoretical foundation, but also to educate communication specialists who are capable of effectively using new communication technologies, possess advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, demonstrate ethical responsibility, and are well prepared for professional life through applied studies, project-based learning processes, and sectoral collaborations. In this respect, the program establishes an integrated structure between academic knowledge and professional practice, aiming to ensure that students acquire qualifications that will enable them to compete at both national and international levels.
